Alexander, the Warrior Jar, is the most loved NPC in Elden Ring. His questline is short, mostly about finding him stuck in places, and ends in a warrior’s duel. Along the way he helps you against Radahn and the Fire Giant.

Iron Fist Alexander Questline walkthrough
- Free him in Stormhill. Find the jar stuck in the ground north of the Agheel Lake North grace. Hit him from behind to free him. You get Exalted Flesh and the Triumphant Delight gesture.
- Gael Tunnel. He waits at the Caelid exit of Gael Tunnel and talks about the Radahn Festival.
- Redmane Castle. Talk to him in the castle plaza before the festival.
- Fight Radahn together. Summon him in the Starscourge Radahn fight.
- Wailing Dunes. After Radahn, find him south of the Starscourge Radahn grace and exhaust his dialogue.
- Stuck in Liurnia. He is stuck in a hole south of the Carian Study Hall. Throw an Oil Pot on him, then hit him to free him. He gives you another Exalted Flesh.
- Mt. Gelmir. Find him in the lava lake west of the Seethewater Terminus and talk to him from the rocks. He gives you the Jar as a token of friendship and heads for the Forge of the Giants.
- Fight the Fire Giant together. His summon sign is in the Fire Giant arena. He is immune to fire and breaks stance well.
- Final duel. In Crumbling Farum Azula, find him on a flat arena reached by jumping across archways from the Dragon Temple Lift area. Accept his challenge and defeat him.
Ending and rewards
Defeating him gives the Shard of Alexander (boosts skill attack power, a key talisman in the Bleed Arcane and Moonveil builds) and Alexander’s Innards.
Tips
- Carry an Oil Pot before Liurnia; you can buy them from merchants or craft them.
- The November Community Quest asks the community to summon Alexander 50,000 times: the Radahn and Fire Giant fights count.
- Track the bosses you beat with the boss checklist.
Alexander questline FAQ
Where is Alexander after Radahn?
First at the Starscourge Radahn grace in the Wailing Dunes. After you exhaust his dialogue there, he moves to the hole south of the Carian Study Hall in Liurnia.
Can you skip the Liurnia step?
Yes. If you go to Mt. Gelmir first, he is already in the lava lake there and the quest goes on as normal. You only miss one Exalted Flesh.
What does Alexander give you?
Exalted Flesh in Stormhill (plus the Triumphant Delight gesture), another Exalted Flesh in Liurnia, the Jar on Mt. Gelmir, and the Shard of Alexander with Alexander’s Innards after the final duel.
