The Scadutree Avatar is a three-phase boss at the base of the Scadutree. It is a great source of runes and its remembrance, and it is weak to Strike and Fire, so a big hammer or a fire build makes short work of it.

Overview
Each phase is a new avatar that rises from the ground with fresh health. The basic moveset stays the same: root sweeps, charges, head slams and thorns.
Phase 2 adds repeated charges, and phase 3 brings a charged light explosion that fires homing beams; that is the most dangerous part of the fight.
Key attacks and how to avoid them
- Root Sweep: A wide sweep with its roots; roll forward through it.
- Charge: It rushes across the arena, up to three times in a row in phase 2; dodge sideways each time.
- Head Slam: A heavy slam with its head; roll to the side and hit the head while it recovers.
- Charged Light Explosion (phase 3): Homing beams and several bursts; keep moving and roll as each beam reaches you.
How to beat the Scadutree Avatar
- Aim for the head: it takes 50% extra damage.
- Use Strike weapons (hammers, colossal weapons) and Fire.
- Do not use bleed: it is immune to Hemorrhage.
- Save your Physick and summons for phase 3.
- Raise your Scadutree Blessing first; our Scadutree Fragment locations guide lists all 50.
Best builds for this fight
- Colossal Strength with a Strike weapon such as Giant-Crusher.
- Taker’s Flames Faith: fire damage.
- Bleed does not work here.
