Elden Ring Endings Guide: How to Get All 6 Endings

Elden Ring has six endings. Every one of them is chosen in the same place: after you defeat Radagon and the Elden Beast, you walk up to Marika’s shattered remains at the Elden Throne. Which options you see there depends on the questlines you finished and the items in your inventory. This guide lists all six Elden Ring endings, what each one needs, and which choices lock you out.

How endings work in Elden Ring

  • All quest-based endings can be prepared in the same playthrough. Nothing is decided until you touch Marika’s remains.
  • A Mending Rune adds an extra option when you mend the Elden Ring. You can carry several and pick one.
  • Ranni’s ending replaces mending entirely: her summon sign appears in front of Marika instead.
  • The Three Fingers are the only point of no return before the final boss.
  • The four Elden Lord endings share one achievement, so you need three endings for all trophies.

1. Age of Fracture

How to get it: beat the Elden Beast, touch Fractured Marika and choose Mend the Elden Ring. You become Elden Lord and restore the Ring as it is, cracks and all. This is the default ending and needs no questline.

2. Age of Order

The Golden Order is rebuilt without the “fickleness of the gods”. You need the Mending Rune of Perfect Order from Goldmask, which comes from Brother Corhyn’s questline.

  1. Meet Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold.
  2. Reach the Altus Plateau. Corhyn moves to the road north of the Altus Highway Junction grace.
  3. Find Goldmask standing on the Forest-Spanning Great Bridge and tell Corhyn where he is.
  4. In Leyndell, find both of them on a cliff east of the colosseum, puzzling over Radagon.
  5. Pick up the Golden Order Principia west of the Erdtree Sanctuary grace (on a corpse in a suspended stone chair). It teaches Law of Regression (37 Intelligence to cast).
  6. Cast Law of Regression in front of the Radagon statue (look for the “Regression” message) to reveal that Radagon is Marika, then tell Goldmask.
  7. After Crumbling Farum Azula, find Goldmask’s body below the colosseum in the Ashen Capital: he leaves the Mending Rune of Perfect Order.

Don’t break it: killing Corhyn ends his part of the quest, and Corhyn only relocates if you reach the Altus Plateau before entering Leyndell. You can still solve the Radagon riddle on your own.

3. Age of the Duskborn

Death returns to the world and the dead are no longer persecuted. Finish Fia’s questline: follow her to the Deeproot Depths and defeat Lichdragon Fortissax in her dream. Fia then leaves the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince. At Marika, choose Use Mending Rune of the Death-Prince.

4. Blessing of Despair

The darkest Elden Lord ending: the Lands Between are covered by the Dung Eater’s curse. Meet the Dung Eater in a locked room of the Roundtable Hold, get the Sewer-Gaol Key, free his body in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, defeat his invasion and bring him five Seedbed Curses (see all Seedbed Curse locations). He then leaves you with the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse. At Marika, choose Use Mending Rune of the Fell Curse.

5. Age of the Stars (Ranni’s ending)

Ranni becomes a goddess and leads the Lands Between away from the Erdtree, leaving the world without an Elden Lord. Complete the whole Ranni questline (Nokron, Fingerslayer Blade, Ainsel River, Moonlight Altar). After the Elden Beast, use Ranni’s summon sign in front of Marika’s remains.

Watch out: the sign does not appear if you carry the Flame of Frenzy. Quell it with Miquella’s Needle first (see below).

6. Lord of the Frenzied Flame

The Tarnished burns the whole world with the yellow flame of chaos. Go to the Three Fingers below the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds (near the Cathedral of the Forsaken under Leyndell). The door of the Frenzied Flame Proscription only opens if you take off your armor. Embrace the Three Fingers to inherit the Flame of Frenzy, which also burns scars into your body and gives you yellow eyes. At Marika, choose Become the Lord of Frenzied Flame.

  • Point of no return: while you hold the Flame of Frenzy, no other ending is offered.
  • Melina leaves you, warning that she will bring you Destined Death if you become the Lord of Frenzied Flame.
  • Hyetta’s questline leads here and rewards the Frenzied Flame Seal.

How to undo the Frenzied Flame

Finish Millicent’s questline and, after beating Malenia, use the Unalloyed Gold Needle at the Scarlet Aeonia spot to get Miquella’s Needle. Use it anywhere inside Dragonlord Placidusax‘s arena in Crumbling Farum Azula; you do not need to fight him. The flame is quelled (the burn scars stay) and every other ending is available again.

How to get all Elden Ring endings achievements

  1. Playthrough 1: any Elden Lord ending (Fracture, Order, Duskborn or Despair) for the Elden Lord achievement.
  2. Playthrough 2: Age of the Stars.
  3. Playthrough 3: Lord of Frenzied Flame.
  4. Shortcut: prepare every questline in one run and back up your save before touching Marika, so you can restore it and pick another ending.

FAQ

How many endings does Elden Ring have?

Six: Age of Fracture, Age of Order, Age of the Duskborn, Blessing of Despair, Age of the Stars and Lord of Frenzied Flame.

What is the best ending in Elden Ring?

Most players consider Ranni’s Age of the Stars the “best” ending because it needs the longest questline and frees the world from the Erdtree’s rule. Lore-wise, none is officially canon.

Can I get every ending in one playthrough?

You can prepare all of them in one run, but you only see one ending per playthrough. Back up your save before the final choice, or play New Game+.

Is the Frenzied Flame ending permanent?

Only until you use Miquella’s Needle in Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena. After that, the other endings come back.

Which endings need a Mending Rune?

Age of Order, Age of the Duskborn and Blessing of Despair. Age of Fracture needs nothing, and the Stars and Frenzied Flame endings use a summon sign and the Flame of Frenzy instead.
