Overview
Fortissax is an ancient dragon who fights inside Fia’s dream to protect Godwyn. His attacks are lightning with a deathly twist.
His signature Death Lightning creates clouds that build up Death Blight. If it fills, you die instantly.
How to reach Fortissax
Complete Fia’s questline: give her the Cursemark of Death, talk to her three times, reload the area, then interact with her body and choose “Enter the Deathbed Dream”. If you kill Fia early, this fight is missable.
Preparation
- Lightning protection: Lightningproof Dried Liver, Boiled Crab.
- Prince of Death’s Pustule or Cyst to resist Death Blight.
- Pierce weapons deal extra damage.
Moveset and how to counter it
Do not lock on all the time. Aim for his head, which takes extra damage.
Death Lightning
He crouches and thrusts his head up, filling the area with deathly mist. Hit his front legs, then move your back toward the thinnest part of the mist.
Lightning spear
Two forked bolts slammed one after the other. Sprint away, then come back in for head attacks.
Double bite
After both bites land, punish with heavy attacks to the head.
Best builds and tools
- Pierce weapons, ideally heavy thrusts to the head.
- Avoid lightning and holy damage.
