Overview
Placidusax is the ancient Elden Lord of the dragons, and he waits in the eye of the storm at the heart of Farum Azula.
He has two phases. From 50% HP he uses Placidusax’s Ruin, a sweeping laser from both heads.
How to reach Placidusax
From the Beside the Great Bridge grace, go down through the church past the Beastmen, head toward the trees, drop to a platform, and find a stone cubby without bones. Choose “Lie down” to be taken to the arena.
Preparation
- Lightning and fire protection (Boiled Crab, Lightningproof Dried Liver).
- Pierce weapons deal the most damage.
- Black Knife Tiche or the Mimic Tear are strong choices.
Phase 1 strategy
Attack near his hind legs and tail. It keeps you away from his heads and wings, where most damage comes from.
Lightning strikes
Keep moving or roll through them.
Claw swipes
Roll toward the direction of the attack.
Fire breath
Sprint behind him or roll under the tail.
Thundercloud form (swoop)
Watch the direction of the swoop and roll right through the dive.
Teleportation
He vanishes and reappears. Lock-on helps you track where he lands.
Phase 2 (from 50% HP)
He becomes more aggressive and adds his strongest attack.
Placidusax’s Ruin
Both heads fire sweeping beams. Sprint close to his flank, or dodge each beam in sequence.
Best builds and tools
- Pierce weapons (spears, thrusting swords, great spears).
- Status builds are weak here because of his high resistances.
- Spirit Ash: Black Knife Tiche or Mimic Tear.
