Godfrey, First Elden Lord is the final Elden Lord you face before the Erdtree. At around 60% HP he throws off his armour, kills his lion Serosh, and becomes Hoarah Loux, Warrior, a wrestler who suplexes you across the arena. Here is how to beat both forms.

Overview
This is the real Godfrey. In phase 1 he fights with his axe while Serosh rides on his back. His stomps send shockwaves across the whole arena.
Phase 2, Hoarah Loux, drops the axe for grabs and body slams. The grabs cannot be blocked, so dodging is essential.
How to reach Hoarah Loux
From the Queen’s Bedchamber grace in the Ashen Capital, climb the stairs to the southeast. Summon signs for Nepheli Loux and Shabriri appear outside the arena if you meet their conditions.
Preparation
- Summon Nepheli Loux if you can; she is a strong ally here.
- Pierce or lightning weapons for phase 1, slash for phase 2.
- Sleep pots or sleep arrows work in phase 2.
Phase 1 strategy
Stay close. Most of his stomps and shockwaves are worse at range.
Regal Roar and stomp
He charges with a red aura and stomps, creating an arena-wide shockwave. Jump over it; jumping is easier than rolling through.
Fissure
A ground rupture that spans the arena. Jump or sidestep the narrow part.
Axe swings
Most swings can be blocked with enough stamina, or dodged normally.
Phase 2 – Hoarah Loux, Warrior
At about 60% HP he sheds his armour and kills Serosh. From here he fights unarmed.
Power bomb
A running grab followed by an aerial slam. Dodge sideways.
Earthshaker
A roar, a leap and a ground slam with erupting fissures. Keep your distance during the roar; this is also a window for ranged damage.
Choke slam
A one-handed overhead grab. Dodge backward or sideways.
Claw barrage
Two swipes and a delayed uppercut. Block or dodge in the right direction.
Best builds and tools
- Pierce or lightning weapons for phase 1, slash weapons for phase 2.
- Frostbite works well thanks to his low resistances.
- Avoid holy damage.
- Spirit Ash: Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche, or summon Nepheli.
