Morgott, the Omen King: overview

Morgott, the Omen King, is the true ruler of Leyndell and one of the most mechanically refined bosses in Elden Ring.

Unlike Margit, Morgott is:

  • Faster
  • More aggressive
  • More combo-heavy
  • Holy-damage focused

This fight tests stamina control, delayed dodge timing, and composure under pressure.

Location

  • Region: Leyndell, Royal Capital
  • Arena: Elden Throne (Queen’s Bedchamber grace)
  • Access Requirement: Defeat at least two Great Rune bosses

Health

10,399 HP

Damage Types

  • Sleep ⭐⭐ (weak)
  • Stagger Damage ⭐⭐

Is Morgott resistant to Holy? Weaknesses and resistances

Yes. Morgott has 40 Holy damage negation, so Holy incantations and Sacred-infused weapons lose a big share of their damage in this fight. His only negative value is Slash (-10), which makes slash attacks hit slightly harder than normal. Every other damage type is neutral.

Damage typeNegationWhat it means
Slash-10Weak: the best physical type here
Standard, Strike, Pierce0Neutral
Magic, Fire, Lightning0Neutral
Holy40Resisted: swap off Holy damage if you can

Status effects: Morgott is immune to Madness. Poison, Scarlet Rot, Hemorrhage and Frostbite all start at 337 resistance on NG, so a bleed weapon will still proc on him. Sleep resistance is higher (552), but Sleep is listed as one of his weaknesses, so Sleep Pots and sleep arrows are worth carrying.

Summons and parries

  • Melina: her summon sign sits on the stairs in front of the fog gate.
  • Dung Eater: also available if you freed him from the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds during his questline.
  • Parrying: Morgott can be parried. It takes three successful parries to open him up for a critical hit.

Morgott becomes more aggressive and starts using bloodflame-infused attacks.

New Abilities

Surviving Phase 2

  • Keep stamina above 50%

Morgott FAQ

Is Morgott resistant to Holy damage?

Yes. He has 40 Holy negation, the highest of any damage type on him, so Holy builds deal noticeably less damage here.

What is Morgott weak to?

Slash damage (-10 negation) and Sleep. Bleed also works because his Hemorrhage resistance is the same as his Poison and Frostbite resistance.

Can you parry Morgott?

Yes. Land three parries and he drops into a critical-hit state.

Can you summon help against Morgott?

Yes. Melina’s sign is on the stairs before the fog gate, and Dung Eater can join if you released him from the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.
