Overview
Red Wolf of Radagon is technically optional in Elden Ring, but it guards the way to Rennala and serves as a major obstacle inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
Fast, aggressive, and magic-focused, this boss tests your mobility and reaction speed rather than raw endurance.
The Red Wolf combines:
- High-speed melee attacks
- Glintblade sorceries
- Aggressive gap-closing behavior
This fight is less about tanking and more about positioning and timing.

After defeating the wolf, you gain access to the upper section of the academy and progress toward Rennala.

Tip: Dodge sideways, not backwards.

Creates a large blue blade in its mouth and slams the ground.
Tip: Roll toward the wolf to avoid the shockwave.
🔹 Rapid Bite Combo
A fast 2–3 hit melee combo.
Tip: Do not panic roll. Wait for the second bite before dodging.
🔹 Leap Attack
The wolf jumps high and crashes down.
Tip: Time your dodge just before impact.
How to beat Red Wolf of Radagon

- Stay close to avoid excessive magic spam.
- Circle to the wolf’s side.
- Punish after bite combos.
- Use Spirit Ashes to draw aggro.
Heavy weapons can stagger the wolf quickly.

- Use physical-infused spells if possible.
- Keep distance and bait leap attacks.
