This policy explains what information Tarnished Wiki (https://tarnishedwiki.com) collects when you visit the site, and how it is used.
Information we collect
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site, for example which guides are read most. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location and your device type. This data is processed by Google; see https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies
If you leave a comment you can choose to save your name, email and website in cookies so you do not have to enter them again; these last one year. Analytics cookies are described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Embedded content
Guides may include embedded content such as videos. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited that website, and it may collect data about you.
How long we keep data
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or KVKK), you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.
Where your data is sent
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
